Splendid 35 – best I've owned for any system. Far better constructed than any 35 currently or previously made for Nikon F mount, the weather sealing is very helpful, lens hood works like a dream, and it makes far more characterful images than any of Nikon's own lenses or the well-regarded Sigma 35 f1.4 Art. Also likely a better long-term investment than the Sigma if you can deal with manual focus and f2 speed.

If you can justify the cost, and are okay with manual focus, the image quality on this lens is world class. I have experience using the latest and highest quality medium format (Mamiya + Hasselblad) gear along with the highest resolution digital backs, and this lens produces results similar to that system. I'm using this along with a Nikon D800, and the result is stunning
